Dr. Annie Watson is pregnant and she moves to live with her best friend, Dr. Belinda Owens, so that Belinda can monitor her until she gives birth. Annie's mother-in-law, Mary, a seen-it-all midwife comes along with her. Belinda, who only trusts her scientific knowledge, finds herself in conflict with homeopathic remedies and folksy wisdom of Mary. But when Belinda's inability to get pregnant ruins the relationship between her and her husband, she realizes that the best guidance for her own issues may come from Mary's experience rather than her knowledge.
