The film centers on a widow and former singer Carol Petersen finds that life can restart at any age. She lives alone in California with her dog Hazel and doesn’t have plan of dating or marrying again after her husband died. With the help of three friends, Carol decides to fall in line with the world such as making an unlikely friendship with her pool maintainance man, pursuing a new love interest and connecting again with her daughter.
