"Empress Ki" is a life story of Yang-i, a Goryeo-born woman, who later becomes a powerful Empress of the Yuan dynasty. She disguises as a man to looking for her father who she hasn't seen before. After she is sent to the Yuan Empire as a tribute, she is torn between two nations as well as the loves of two man: Emperor Huizong of the Yuan dynasty and her first love Wang Yu - the prince of Goryeo.
